Introducing Atom's ESPHome socket in Swiss format

We offer you here a brief overview of the commissioning and features of the PG05V2-CH16A-ESP socket from manufacturer Athom technology, especially in Home Assistant. Sockets suitable for the Swiss market are rare. This one also has power consumption monitoring, and we were therefore eager to introduce it to you.

Its setup is relatively simple and quick:

Once connected, a page will open automatically where you can connect the socket to your WiFi network. If the page does not open automatically, go to your browser and access the IP address 192.168.4.1.

As soon as the socket stops generating its own WiFi, this means it is connected. You can then reconnect to your network.

It can be seen that it has already been recognized by Home Assistant. Click on configure, choose the room, and you're done!

Conclusion

I found the device very easy to use. Its integration into Home Assistant is relatively well done. Many values are available and the possibilities for automations are numerous. I find that the setup as well as the connection to Home Assistant are fast and intuitive. Small downside concerning the physical button which does not give a feeling of great quality, even if it does not seem to be a real problem even in case of intensive use. Finally, I think that if you need a smart socket that you plan to associate with your Home Assistant, you are on a very good option.
