Today everyone would like to be able to control their home, from wherever they are and fully automate all routine activities in the house. Security to protect your house, save energy and generally make life easier are all obvious advantages, but the real challenge is how to do it all simply and at minimal cost.

The Zipamicro home automation controller uses cutting edge technology to conceal the complexity of the home automation network, making having a smart home appear deceptively easy. It plugs into any electrical socket and automatically communicates with all the connected devices in the home, connecting them to the internet such that users can control them via a digital tablet, smartphone, computer or TV, either remotely or from home.

How does Zipamicro make every house smart?

The Zipamicro controller could be described as a “light” version of the Zipabox as the latter is be able to communicate using Z-Wave and IP technology with any IP device installed at home.

Once configured, the Zipamicro becomes autonomous, but still has the support of the my.zipato.com platform in order to benefit from its supervisory, messaging and programming services. The intuitive user interface enables users to programme their own rules and scenes with absolutely no prior programming experience.

A simple and intuitive interface for rule creation
Inspired by the MIT “Scratch” project, Zipato has developed a graphic online tool making home automation programming simple and even fun. By using the Zipato rule creator, users can easily create or modify the automation processes in their home without having any prior experience of programming or automation.

Based on a jigsaw puzzle format, this tool offers ready-made puzzle blocks to which you can drag and drop the icons for your various peripheral devices and link them according to their shapes and colours. Child’s play!

Events can be triggered by:

  • Conditions (several)
  • A change in the status of a device
  • A time
  • Sunrise/sunset (with the possibility of building-in a time delay)
  • An email received
  • A security panel event
  • Corresponding infrared codes
  • Recurring at regular intervals (seconds/minutes)
  • Actions caused by an event

In response to event triggers, any available action can be carried out such as:

  • Sending a lighting instruction
  • Sending an email
  • Executing a script
  • Triggering another event
  • Media Player functions
  • Web cam functions

Take control over your heating from wherever you are in the world

From almost anywhere, on the road, in your office or at the beach, you can easily monitor what’s happening at home. With the Zipato mobile app on your smartphone or tablet you are always up to date, even when travelling for example.

You can arm or disarm the alarm system, receive text and video alerts following events detected at home, watch the video in real-time via your security cameras, adjust light levels or thermostats, and much more.
